We are a labor union representing Machinists in and around the Boston area. Local 264 was chartered in 1892 and represents workers at 13 different companies. Monthly member meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of the month, unless otherwise noted. All members are encouraged to be as active and as involved in the local as can be, the more involvement the stronger we are.
Unions are about a simple proposition: By joining together, working men and women can gain strength in numbers so they can have a voice at work about things they care about. Unions negotiate a contract with employers for things like a fair and safe workplace, better wages, better benefits, and a secure retirement They have a voice in how their jobs get done, which in turn creates a more stable and productive workforce that provides better services and products. Always adapting to the challenges of our nation’s evolving workforce, unions are meeting the needs of workers in today’s work environments.
